Review your agreement.
Please read the terms below and confirm your acceptance before proceeding to the secure £99 deposit payment.
The £29 monthly maintenance fee is billed separately, beginning one calendar month after launch. The deposit payment does not set up an automatic monthly card charge.
Website Design & Maintenance Agreement
1. Website design
The standard £199 package includes up to five standard pages, responsive mobile-friendly design, integration of agreed customer-supplied content and branding, a contact/enquiry form, basic on-page SEO, one round of reasonable revisions, and website launch and domain connection. Any particular features or deliverables must be agreed in writing. Advanced booking, e-commerce, additional pages, extensive copywriting or major redesigns are not included unless quoted separately. Search rankings, traffic and enquiries are not guaranteed.
2. Setup payments
The total setup price is £199: a £99 deposit payable before work begins and £100 payable after approval and before launch. Additional work is quoted and approved separately. The deposit is an advance payment, not automatically non-refundable. Cancellation and refunds are assessed according to work reasonably completed, agreed costs and applicable legal rights.
3. Development and approval
The customer will provide accurate business details and content, and respond to reasonable requests for feedback. Northstar Web will provide a preview for review. One round of reasonable amendments within the agreed scope is included. Further work requires advance approval of any additional charge. Delivery estimates depend on timely customer cooperation. The website is published after customer approval and payment of the outstanding setup balance.
4. Hosting and maintenance
The first calendar month of hosting and maintenance, starting on the website's launch date, is free. After that, maintenance is £29 per month, charged at the start of each monthly billing period. It includes managed hosting and HTTPS, monthly functional checks of pages, links and enquiry forms, backup copies of site files, email support with a target response within two working days, and up to 30 minutes of minor content updates each month. Unused minutes do not roll over. Major redesigns, new pages, additional functionality and third-party fees are excluded. Approved additional work is £25 per hour.
5. Cancelling maintenance
There is no minimum maintenance term. The customer can cancel at any time by emailing Northstar Web. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no further monthly maintenance invoices will be issued. Fees for a current paid period are not refundable solely because the customer cancels partway through it, except where required by law. Hosting and support continue until that period ends. Cancellation during the free first month incurs no maintenance charge.
6. Ownership and transfer
Once all agreed website development fees have been paid, the customer owns the completed website deliverables created specifically for them, excluding third-party components governed by their own licences. On cancellation of maintenance, Northstar Web will provide a copy of the completed website files on request without a file-release fee. The customer arranges replacement hosting and any migration services. Northstar Web hosting ends when the maintenance service ends.
7. Domains and third-party services
Domain registration, renewal and separately agreed third-party services are not included in the stated prices. Wherever practical, the customer's domain should be registered in the customer's name. Third-party services are subject to their providers' terms.
8. Content and data protection
The customer confirms they have rights to use materials supplied and are responsible for the accuracy of their business claims, pricing and descriptions. Each party will comply with applicable data-protection obligations. Where Northstar Web processes personal data on behalf of the customer, any legally required data-processing terms will be agreed separately.
9. Availability and liability
Northstar Web will provide services with reasonable care and skill. Hosting may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, technical issues or circumstances beyond reasonable control; uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Cancelling website development
Customers wishing to cancel before launch should notify Northstar Web by email. Any refund or outstanding amount will be determined fairly with reference to work completed, reasonable costs and applicable statutory rights. If the customer has legal consumer cancellation rights, those rights take priority. Customers with such rights should contact Northstar Web before paying if they wish development to start within any statutory cancellation period.
11. Changes to the service
Project changes require written agreement. Northstar Web will give at least 30 days' written notice of proposed changes to monthly maintenance prices or terms. Customers may cancel before a proposed change takes effect.
12. Governing law and acceptance
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to mandatory legal protections. By submitting the acceptance form, the customer confirms they have read and agreed to this version of the terms, alongside the project scope agreed separately in writing.
